It is Thursday, November 5, and The Nerds List Daily has a second episode today — a solo special from Nova, and one for the anime community.
Episode 5.5, "Black Clover: Where We Are, Where We're Going," is live now. After five years away, Black Clover is back on our screens, and Nova takes ten minutes to do what this moment deserves: a community recap of where the anime is right now, and where it is heading next. This is one of Grand Society's top five, and after the month we have just had, it is easy to see why.
Where we are: the anime stopped in March 2021, after episode 170, right in the middle of the Spade Kingdom Raid arc — a pause in the middle of a war, not a natural stopping point. Then, on October 3, 2026, Season 2 returned, picking up at episode 171 with the same voices, the same energy, and the same Black Bulls chaos. We are back inside the Spade Kingdom Raid, where the stakes stop being local and become enormous: the Clover Kingdom is under threat from forces older, darker, and far more organized than anything Asta and his friends faced in their early days, and the devils are no longer a rumor in the background.
Nova walks through what makes this return matter: Asta, the boy born without magic in a world where magic is everything, finally having everything he learned tested at the highest level; Yuno, his rival since childhood, turning that rivalry into a partnership under pressure; and the Black Bulls — Captain Yami, Noelle, Charmy, Luck, Magna, Vanessa, Finral, and the rest — the squad of misfits the kingdom wrote off, who became a family and the reason the big battles feel personal. She also spotlights Nacht, the Black Bulls' vice captain, whose devil power changes how we understand what that power costs, and the Dark Triad — Zenon, Vanica, and Dante — the rulers who built a kingdom on devil power and each force a different hero to grow.
Where we are going: after the Spade Kingdom Raid comes the Hino Country arc, and after that, the Judgment Day finale. The manga has now finished, which means the anime finally has a complete story to follow — no more running out of material the way it did before. Season 2 is planned as the final season, with around 26 episodes to cover a lot of story, and Nova is honest about the question the whole community is asking: will the big moments get the breathing room they deserve? The worries are fair, and they come from love, not doubt. We waited five years. We want this ending to land.
There is also something small and wonderful coming soon for fans of the art: on November 10, a new digital art book from creator Yuki Tabata is set to release, collecting color illustrations from across the run, including some previously unreleased work. And if you are new to the show, Nova says you are joining at the best possible time — you can watch from the beginning and follow Asta all the way to this war without waiting years between chapters, then join the rest of us for the final stretch, live, as it airs.
This is a companion to the regular Geeked episode, not a replacement for it. Same show, same ten-minute length, a different voice and a different angle on the day in nerd culture.
