Here Are All The Free Xbox Games For September (2017)

Battlefield 3 is free for Xbox gamers in September.

September has arrived, and video game season is officially here. But we don't just have new releases to look forward to.
Xbox Live Gold subscribers have another month of free games on Xbox 360 and Xbox One to download and play.
Here's all the free games coming to Microsoft's platforms in September:
Xbox One

• Forza Motorsport 5: Racing Game Of The Year Edition (Sept 1 - 30)
• Oxenfree (Sept 16 - Oct 15)

Forza Motorsport 5 is, obviously, a race car game. It was one of the Xbox One's launch titles back in 2013. The GOTY edition comes with extra cars and other DLC.

Oxenfree is a ghostly thriller that's gotten rave reviews on both Xbox One and PC. It's one of those games on my bucket list that I'm happy to download at the very reasonable price of "free."
Xbox 360

• Hydro Thunder Hurricane (Sept 1 - 15)
• Battlefield 3 (Sept 16 - 30)

Hydro Thunder Hurricane is a boat-racing game that, I'll be honest, I have actually never heard of.  I do suspect that someone at Microsoft is regretting including a game with the word 'hurricane' in it right now, though.
