Game Pass subscribers, clear some hard-drive space — because October 29 is shaping up to be one of the biggest single days on the service all year. Microsoft confirmed the second October 2026 Game Pass wave on Xbox Wire on October 20, and it is headlined by Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, arriving October 29 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and cloud gaming through Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass.
If you somehow missed the remake phenomenon, here is the pitch: this is Square Enix's reimagining of the opening stretch of the 1997 classic, following Cloud Strife and his companions through Midgar in a fight against the Shinra Electric Power Company. The combat blends real-time action with strategic, command-based decisions, and the Intergrade version also includes the Yuffie-focused Episode INTERmission side story. It is the first chapter of the remake project, so this is the perfect entry point — just know that the story continues beyond Midgar in later installments.
One important note for Xbox players: this is a Game Pass debut, not a brand-new launch. The game has been available on Xbox Series X|S since January 22, 2026, so what is new here is that subscribers in the eligible tiers can now play it at no extra cost. That distinction matters if you already own it — but if you have been waiting for the right moment to jump in, this is it.
October 29 is not a one-game day, either. The same date brings Mouthwashing, the psychological horror game from Wrong Organ about five crew members trapped aboard the stranded spacecraft Tulpar, plus Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted and the day-one launch Terrible Lizards. That is a wild mix: a beloved RPG epic, a deeply unsettling space horror, a cozy-versus-chaotic plant defense revival, and a brand-new release, all landing at once.
The rest of the wave is worth your queue too. Scramble Knights Online launches in Game Preview on October 26, and The Séance of Blake Manor, a supernatural mystery set in 1897 Ireland, arrives October 27. Pit of Goblin closes out this wave on November 3. In other words, whether you want a hundred-hour epic, a weekend horror binge, or something weird and new, this wave has you covered.
Our pick? Start Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on October 29, keep Mouthwashing for a late-night session closer to Halloween, and let the rest of the wave fill in the gaps. Midgar is waiting — and this time, the ticket is already in your subscription.
