Tomorrow is the big day, soldiers. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches worldwide Friday, October 23, 2026, and Infinity Ward is going all in on the biggest reboot of the rebooted Modern Warfare saga yet.
The campaign drops players into a North Korean invasion of the Korean Peninsula. You fight as a young South Korean soldier, Private Park, leading a squad through collapsing front lines, while an outlaw Captain Price runs his own off-the-books operation. When those two storylines converge, a regional war threatens to spiral into a global crisis — with missions stretching from trench warfare in Korea to firefights in New York, chases through Paris, and SAS night raids in Mumbai.
Here's what you need to know before you deploy:
- Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam, Battle.net, Xbox on PC), and — for the first time in the Modern Warfare series — a native Nintendo Switch 2 version. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version.
- Price: $69.99 for the Standard Edition, $99.99 for the Vault Edition (operator packs, a Signature Weapon Collection, one BlackCell season, and DMZ bonuses). A $30 upgrade takes Standard to Vault.
- Multiplayer: 12 core 6v6 maps at launch, a shape-shifting Kill Block arena, Big War maps, and a reworked "Ballistic Authority" gunplay model. DMZ returns as a full extraction shooter in the Hajin Exclusion Zone with a persistent Forward Operating Base.
- Game Pass: Modern Warfare 4 is not on Game Pass at launch. Activision says it arrives on the service around holiday 2027, so subscribers will need to buy it outright. Xbox Play Anywhere is supported, so one purchase covers Xbox and PC.
- Early access: Digital pre-orders got the campaign a week early on October 16, and DMZ early access opened October 20 — reviews of the campaign are already rolling in.
Whether you're here for the cinematic campaign, the grind of competitive multiplayer, or the slow-burn tension of DMZ extraction, MW4 is the heaviest-hitting launch of the fall gaming season. Preload now, charge your headset, and we'll see you on the Peninsula. Bravo Six, going loud.
