Soldiers, the wait is almost over. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23, 2026, on PC via Steam, Battle.net, and Xbox — and it is shaping up to be one of the biggest shooters of the decade. If you have been counting down the days, go ahead and charge those controllers, because launch week is officially a warzone.
The campaign sounds like a globe-trotting blockbuster. This time the fight centers on a full-scale invasion of South Korea, and you step into the boots of Private Park, a young South Korean soldier thrown straight into trench warfare. The tour of duty does not stay local, though: close-quarters firefights in New York, high-speed vehicle chases through Paris, and SAS night raids in Mumbai are all on the itinerary. And yes — Captain Price returns, this time with a more personal storyline that collides head-on with the larger conflict. Classic CoD spectacle, amped to eleven.
Multiplayer is where the series lives and dies, and MW4 is coming in hot:
- 12 brand-new 6v6 maps at launch, plus larger Big War maps built for vehicle combat.
- Kill Block, a brand-new mode with dynamic layouts that literally reconfigure mid-match — so no two rounds play the same.
- The Ballistic Authority gunplay system: tighter aiming, realistic audio, and reduced hipfire bloom.
- DMZ is back as a full extraction mode: drop into contested zones, complete your objectives, and extract under pressure.
Two important heads-up for the squad: digital pre-orders get campaign access, with multiplayer and DMZ unlocking at midnight local time on launch day. And in a twist that surprised everyone, MW4 is NOT launching into Xbox Game Pass — so Game Pass subscribers should not expect it on the service day one.
The shooter fall calendar is stacked, with titles dropping all through October and December, but a new Modern Warfare is always the event. Whether you are here for Price's next chapter, the Kill Block chaos, or one more DMZ run with the crew — October 23 cannot come fast enough. Drop your launch-night plans in the comments, and we will see you in the lobby.
