Reality is coming apart this week, and FuRyu wants you to walk straight into the cracks. ANOMALITH, the survival horror action game from FuRyu and Winning Entertainment Group (formerly Natsume Atari), arrives October 28 in North America and October 29 in Japan for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam — and it may be the strangest, most stylish horror launch of the fall.
The setup is pure nightmare fuel. In a near-future Japan, spatial anomalies called Otherworlds have torn their way into reality, and the government's Danger Zone Countermeasures Office is losing the fight. You play Reona Minazuki, an investigator who awakens after ten years trapped inside a massive anomaly known as the Sarcophagus, now carrying a dangerous sensitivity to the Otherworlds. Her mission: dive into those warped zones and uncover the truth behind them.
Combat is tense third-person gunplay against erratic, hungry enemies, with stunned monsters finished off in melee. But the zones themselves are the enemy too: an apartment with inverted gravity here, a train that never ends there, liminal spaces designed to confuse you as much as any creature.
The signature hook is the Demi-Humanization System. Shaped by her sensitivity to the Otherworlds, Reona can absorb and upgrade unique active and passive abilities from the anomalies, letting you build a fighting style that is genuinely your own. Add a huge arsenal of weapons, attachments, and artifacts, plus more than 300 outfit items across nine customizable parts, and this is a game that wants you to look as dangerous as you play.
Between dives, you return to a home base, meet a broad cast of characters, unlock upgrades, and piece together more than 200 investigation reports detailing each anomaly. The talent is stacked: scenario lead Romeo Tanaka (Stella of the End, Humanity Has Declined), character designer MON (Nisio Isin's Legends series), and composer Yuka Kitamura (Elden Ring, Sekiro, Bloodborne). FuRyu has also announced a collaboration with the cyberpunk immersive sim Peripeteia, with details still to come.
The practical part: the Standard Edition is $49.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition is $69.99, adding an 80-page digital art book, a mini-soundtrack, and a DLC set. Pre-orders on PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 carry a 10% discount until launch, and Steam players get 10% off during the first two weeks. A physical Launch Edition follows November 12 for $59.99. The free demo has run through Steam Next Fest, ending today, October 26 — and with more than 100,000 Steam wishlists banked, plenty of players are ready to step through the anomaly.
So: flashlight charged, inventory managed, gravity optional. ANOMALITH drops this week. Are you diving in?
