Gotham Knights is an upcoming action role-playing video game based on the DC Comics character Batman and his supporting cast. Developed by WB Games Montréal, the game will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment when it is released in 2018.
This article will provide a brief insight into what Gotham Knights entails and some of its notable features, such as an excellent combat system, unique gadgets and gear to do battle with (or use non-lethally if you prefer), and a compelling storyline that takes place before the better known comics tales we are familiar with.
The game begins with Batman and Robin arriving at Arkham Asylum to transfer the Joker to another facility. However, the transfer is interrupted by Harley Quinn and a group of armed thugs led by Bane. Upon defeating them, Batman meets an old foe, Killer Croc, who has orchestrated the attack on Arkham Asylum in order to free himself and the Joker from incarceration. The Caped Crusader defeats Croc and his allies, but is then confronted by Nightwing (in his Nightwing costume), who reveals he was responsible for setting up the ambush in order to convince Batman that he was turning evil like other former Robins Jason Todd and Dick Grayson. The two then engage in a fistfight atop a prison rooftop, with Batman escaping the fight and Nightwing falling to his apparent death.
Batman confronts Killer Croc again, and defeats him yet again. This time, however, he discovers that Croc's body is just a temporary shell used by the Joker to ambush him when he arrives at Arkham. The Joker then reveals that Ra's al Ghul has returned from exile and is planning to destroy Gotham City. Batman meets with Oracle, who provides him with tracking devices so he can find Ra's al Ghul before his henchmen do.
