Elden Ring

Many people we know are excited for Elden Ring. Even at The Nerd's List we have high hopes for this installment. What is Elden Ring? A collaborative effort between game director Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin, Elden Ring is an upcoming action role-playing game coming to the PC and PlayStation 4 in 2019. It promises to be a worthy successor to Dark Souls and Bloodborne, with a focus on player choice that affects enemies, the world, even which weapons they can use!

Elden Ring takes place in the vast land of Eriana. It is said that this cursed land has been created by gods who want to punish those who have committed heinous crimes against them; these crimes can range from petty theft or murder all the way up to heresy or desecration of holy relics. This land is infested with all sorts of malevolent beings, from goblins and ogres to bloodthirsty demons. While the idea of a doomed land as a punishment for sinners may be common knowledge, what's not so commonly known is the very origins of this doomed land.

Long ago, there was once an ancient race of humans that were one with the world around them and were considered deities by other races, such as elves and dwarves. This ancient race eventually split into two groups: one sought to preserve the sacred balance between life and death for the sake of all those who are still alive, while the other sought eternal life through necromancy.
