Pedro Pascal casted as Joel in live action The Last of Us series

HBO has signed Pedro Pascal to play as Joel in the live action television show adaptation of Naughty Dog’s “The Last of Us”. Pascal continues to rise in popularity as a respected talent in the industry and his fans have roared in excitement for this casting. The Last of Us is a survival horror story taking place 20 years in the future after a virus started reanimating corpses as deadly zombie-like creatures called “the infected.”  Game creator Neil Druckman has already tweeted excitement for this casting.

Pascal will be playing alongside fellow Game of Thrones veteran, Belle Ramsey’s who will be playing as “Ellie.” Ramsey was announced as Ellie last month which fans have also applauded. Seeing these two GOT alumni return on screen together will be a sight to see. Ramsey proved her acting chops are solid as fans still rave over her portrayal of Lyanna Mormont. She herself is 17 and Ellie is 14, however it's not unusual to see older actors play younger parts. (Cough, cough... all the Spider-Men)
This news also comes out in the wake of Dinsey/Lucasfilms announcing their moving forward without Gina Carano after she ignored repeated warnings to refrain from posting insensitive divisive social media comments. Some fans of Carano have came out in protest against Pascal, saying he is guilty of the same crime they fired Carano for. Whatever the argument made, there doesn’t seem to be any negative affect on Pascal’s part as his recognition as an actor seems to only be growing.
