POKEMON Go fans are counting down the days until the release of Mewtwo Exclusive Raids.
Pokemon Go developer Niantic has announced plans to hold even more events as the year goes on.
Following recent celebrations in Chicago and Yokohama, Niantic has announced plans to hold two smaller events in San Jose and Philadelphia.
Taking place in September and October, the upcoming Pokemon Go events will feature an increase in PokeStops and wild Pokemon.
Organisers will even close off parts of the city in a bid to encourage attendees to visit landmarks and activity hubs (via Comicbook.com).
It sounds a lot like the recent Pokemon Go event in Chester, where fans were able to visit tourist attractions while capturing Pokemon and special rewards.
Niantic is also sponsoring a Pocket Monster adventure in Akron, Ohio on August 26 and 27.
“The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation has teamed up with Niantic, Inc., the developer and publisher of Pokémon GO, to encourage Akron residents, visitors and University of Akron students to connect to the downtown neighbourhood using the innovative augmented-reality experience of the popular mobile game,” the event description explains.
“Akron will give Trainers the chance to play Pokemon Go together, meet other players and enjoy a variety of real world experiences on Aug. 26 and 27, during The University of Akron’s freshman orientation period, New Roo Weekend, which occurs just before classes begin.”
While no new events have been announced for the UK, regional Pokemon Go events look like they're here to stay
