Get ready for Ready Player One
The 2011 novel by Ernest Cline has been finally brought to the big screen. Directed my Stephan Spielberg, the movie will hit theaters on March 29th. The movie follows Wade Watts, an eighteen-year-old with no parents, living in world of overpopulation, unemployment, and energy shortages. Within the world of despair, there is a virtual reality that can take you to OASIS. A video game "dream world". Upon entering the game, we soon find out that the crazy creator of the game, James Halliday, has planted an Easter egg in the game. All you have to do is find out what it is and you can receive the large amount of money from Halliday himself (or past-self, considering he makes it clear he's dead).
Yesterday, at SXSW film fest, ready player played in front of audiences. Despite the small audio glitches in the middle of the movie, critics say the movie was great A quick hop on twitter, searching "#readyplayerone" and you'll see endless post on the great movie. Twitter user Scott M posted "Ready Player One is a pop culture extravaganza. A truly one of a kind film that combines video games, TV, movies, music, & action figures into one huge crowd pleasing film. Prepare to be wowed & see this on the biggest screen with the best sound system possible".
